European Maritime Safety Agency held 17th meeting of CSN users in Lisbon on 28 June, 2018.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of member states as well as by representatives of Albania, Turkey and Montenegro. The subject of the meeting was presentation of statistical results achieved by the service in the period after the last meeting with a special accent on the improvement of the service compared to the previous period as well as the presentation of planned activities.

The improvement of the service compared to the previous comparative interval pertains mainly to the increase in the number of slicks detected, the possibility of detecting smaller slicks (of 40% or less) and the increased time of planning of 8-10 weeks ahead while the number of feedback remained the same.

Planned transfer to SEG application is running late mainly because of the problems with design of feedback operation, which is currently being solved, and the plan is to make SEG application completely operational by the end of August. The training of CSN users is planned for September, and the phasing out of GIS application and complete transfer to SEG for September 30.
