Maritime Safety Department has a business system in conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. The management has adopted Quality Policy which aims to satisfy customer requirements and continually improve quality of services provided by the Department. The policy is based on all eight quality management principles and states that particular attention shall be paid to customers of the Department, that all employed shall be involved in the realization of services and tend toward continual improvement and that all decisions shall be made on the basis of relevant facts. 

Understanding the significance of the Quality Management System, the Department has continued its co-operation with renowned certification organization “Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance” and undertook recertification of its business system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. Upon general external audit by the leading auditors of Lloyd’s Register, the Department has received the new certificate valid until July 15, 2011. 

This prestigious confirmation means that business processes follow established and controlled proceedings and guidelines, that human and technical resources are engaged to the maximum, all of which guarantees the highest quality of services.

The certificate is issued on 08 July, 2005 under the number 368552 .  and is valid until 14 July, 2011.
